Installation of Waste Food Depacker in Denmark
The first Haarslev Waste Food Depacker has been installed at the company NC Miljø in Denmark.
Instead of incineration of organic waste, supermarkets will deliver packed food to the recycling company in Ørbæk, and the Haarslev Waste Food Depacker separates glass, metal and plastic from the organic pulp, which is led into a slurry-based biogas plant.
The initiative to recycle food waste has attracted a lot of publicity in Denmark, and
the Danish Minister of the Environment, Mrs Ida Auken visited the plant and expressed her enthusiasm for the recycling of food waste from supermarkets into biogas.
